Socio-economically and in terms of the status of women, Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia and Eastern Black Sea are the least developed regions of Turkey. Active in those three areas, this project set out to involve and support non-governmental organisations working with women.
The project helped existing NGOs improve their capacity to promote gender equality and highlight human rights violations against women. It was also instrumental in encouraging the creation of women's NGOs in areas where few or none exist.
